The ‘must have’ course for all those who work at height on a regular basis. The course is suitable for all industries, being a mixture of theory and practical, the practical element being based on your work place environment and day to day work activities.
The course can be delivered on site, providing minimum theory and practical facilities are available, or at our the Guardian training facility in Kent.

To give delegates the required knowledge and skills to be able to work at height safely including working on rooftops, work platforms leading edges and fixed access ladders.

The theory elements of this course are designed to enable delegates to understand and explain:
The general Health & Safety duties of employers and employees in the workplace
The basics of the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and other legislation related to work at height
The fundamental principles of fall protection, including the ‘hierarchy of controls’
What a restraint system is, its components, uses, limitations and potential hazards
What a fall arrest system is, its components, uses, limitations and potential hazards
What a work positioning system is, its components, uses, limitations and potential hazards
Hazards associated with working at height
The importance of inspection, care and maintenance of fall protection equipment
Emergency considerations, including the potential dangers of suspension in a harness
The practical elements of this course are designed to give delegates the skills and knowledge to select, pre-use inspect, set up and use the following equipment:
Full Body Harness
Work Restraint Systems (fixed & adjustable)
Fall Arrest Systems (lanyards, PFL, SRL)
Work Positioning lanyards
Temporary horizontal and vertical systems
Fixed vertical systems
Important Delegate Information
All personnel participating in Safety Training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating. Delegates will be required to sign a statement stating that they are medically fit to participate in the safety training and that they do not suffer from any medical illness or are under influence of any narcotic substance or alcohol.
