The aim of this course is to give the participants the basic knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training to prevent fires, conduct initial and appropriate judgement when evaluating a fire and, if it is judged to be safe, to efficiently extinguish an initial fire by using basic hand held firefighting equipment.
There is no prior learning required but students should be medically fit to carry out any of the techniques required.

Upon successful completion of this course, delegates will be able to:
Understand the appropriate precautions and actions to be taken byemployers and employees in line with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) 2005
Demonstrate knowledge of the development and spread of fire
Demonstrate knowledge of common causes of fire in their workplace and the related dangers
Identify any sign of a fire in their working environment
Demonstrate knowledge of fire contingency plans, including smoke detection and emergency escape procedures
Demonstrate correct actions for discovering a fire including correct use and fire extinguishing using basic handheld firefighting equipment
Important Delegate Information
All personnel participating in Safety Training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating. Delegates will be required to sign a statement stating that they are medically fit to participate in the safety training and that they do not suffer from any medical illness or are under influence of any narcotic substance or alcohol.
