This classroom-based course is suitable for all those who are occasionally required to work at height and find themselves having to wear a harness and lanyard in order to reduce the risk of falls/injury.

To provide those who occasionally work at height with the basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills to check and wear a harness correctly, identify work at height situations and understand the safe systems and technical skills required to work safely.
The course can be delivered at our training facility in Kent, or on site, providing minimum theory and practical facilities are available.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, delegates will be able to demonstrate:
- The general Health & Safety duties of employers and employees in the workplace
- The basics of the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and other legislation related to work at height
- The fundamental principles of fall protection, including the ‘hierarchy of controls’
- What a restraint system is, its components, uses, limitations, and potential hazards
- What a fall arrest system is, its, components, uses, limitations, and potential hazards
- How to recognise hazards and dangerous situations whilst working at height
- Emergency considerations, including the potential dangers of suspension in a harness
- The pre-use inspection of a restraint lanyard, correct fitting and use
- The pre-use inspection of a fall arrest lanyard, correct fitting and use
Participants Will Receive:
- Certificate lasting 3 years
- Direct support from the Guardian training team and Guardian Fall customer service
