LEVEL 7 TRAIN THE TRAINER

THEORY ONLY

Course Aimed at: Customers’ company employees only
Course Duration: 3 Days (6.5 hours per day)
Instructor to Trainee ratio: 1 : 4 (max)
Course Entry Criteria: Experienced trainer (any discipline)

Please note: This course does NOT equip trainees with the necessary qualifications in presentation techniques - trainees should already be qualified in this area. This in-depth syllabus gives the trainee more than enough information and insight into work at height scenarios (and specific scenarios if required), to enable them to effectively deliver a bespoke work at height training course to their employees.

COURSE SCHEDULE:

Day 1: Managing work at height
Day 2: Inspection of fall arrest equipment and Powerpoint presentation design
Day 3: Powerpoint presentation on working safely at height to be delivered by trainee to trainer

Continual assessments (both written and practical) will determine the trainee’s competence through all stages of this course.

COURSE AIMS:

• • To ensure that the candidate is capable of delivering the chosen course in a concise, clear and safe manner to internal staff only

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

On completion of this course, personnel will be able to deliver a theoretical training session on work at height. The following points should be included:

• • The effects of gravity and its consequences
• • Legislation and guidance with regards to working at height and fall protection equipment
• •  Hazards and risks associated with working at heights
• • The need for a rescue plan if appropriate
• • Pre-use inspection of work at height equipment (harness/lanyard)
• • Correct donning of a full body harness
• • Anchorage principles

HANDOUTS

On completion of this course, trainees will be given course notes in PDF form, which include HSE and Industry guidance notes and ACOPs; files and specific product training notes (where required).

ASSESSMENTS

Multiple written tests and assessments are given throughout the duration of the course. Written test pass rate: 85%.
An audit is usually required to be carried out by the principal trainer during the delegate’s first training session - to be arranged for the last day of the Train the Trainer course.

CERTIFICATION

On successful completion of the course, all trainees will be issued with a driver’s license-style card and certificate.
