
LEVEL 2 MANAGING WORK AT HEIGHT
Training aimed at: Managers, Foreman & Supervisors, Health and Safety Managers
Course Duration: 1 day (6.5 hours)
Instructor to Trainee ratio: 1 : 8 (max)
Course Entry Criteria: NONE
TARGET AUDIENCE: ALL INDUSTRIES
This course is for people who have the need to plan, manage or supervise work at height activities. it follows the same basic syllabus as HART's Basic Work at Height course, but delves into more detail on the subject matter. Additionally, risk assessments / method statements are included in the course.
COURSE AIMS:
- • As Level 1 Basic Work at Height, and:
- • To equip trainees with a good theoretical knowledge to effectively identify the main hazards associated with work at height and therefore understand ways to reduce the risks (control measures)
This course does not cover the specialised skills required to carry out specific tasks – this must be dealt with by additional training (practical).
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
On completion of this course, personnel should be able to:
- • See objectives for HART's Level 1 – Basic Work at Height
- • Have a good understanding of the legislation and guidance with regards to working at height and fall protection equipment
- • Understand hazard analysis and risk assessment in connection to work at height including accident reporting (RIDDOR)
- • Understand the need for a rescue plan & various options in the market place
HANDOUTS
On completion of this course trainees will be given course notes in PDF form including HSE & Industry Guidance Notes and ACOPs.
ASSESSMENTS
A written assessment will be given at the end of the course by the height safety trainer. Pass rate 85% +
CERTIFICATION
On successful completion of the course all trainees will be issued with a Certificate (to be posted)
THE COURSE UTILISES A POWERPOINT PRESENTATION, INTERSPERSED WITH VIDEOS, GRAPHICS, IMAGES AND CLIP ART – ACTUAL PRODUCTS ARE USED TO ILLUSTRATE POINTS
